Big things coming up, stay updated and energetic!
SECS Meeting This Wednesday 6:30-7:30!
At the Channing Murray Foundation, 1209 W Oregon Street. Come learn about what SECS does and how you can get involved!
Here’s what we’re up to this week:
Action: Going over the ISC Expressive Activity resolution and going to Committee on Community and Governmental Relations.
CFE: Planning the sock monkey event and outreach for CFE tabling.
Education: Working on the teach in for Epsilon Eta Epsilon aka trEEE.
Garden: Maintaining the garden and foraging for acorns around campus.
Green Observer: Starting the editing process for the drafts.
Media: Finishing the button project.
Policy: Practicing elevator pitches, finalizing expectations for next week’s Lobby Day.
Community Building: Cards
Before our meetings, from 6:00-6:30, come to the Channing Murray for some community building. We’re playing card games this week!
Apple Pie Night
After our meeting this Wednesday, 10/8, we’ll be doing some baking! You can bring your apples picked this weekend from Curtis orchard. It’ll be a low key night to hang out and get a sweet treat. If you’d like you can also bring what make to the bake sale Thursday!
Bake Sale
Thursday, October 9th, 12-4, we’re holding a bake sale and tabling. On the quad, right by the union. Show off those baking skills! If you want to bake something, or table, sign up below:
Paper Drive
Bring any extra paper you have to our next meeting to donate for local art projects! There will be a collection box, lets fill it up!

Throughout TORIIS, you can explore in depth the University of Illinois Systems’ investments, understand the scope and impact of its investments in the fossil fuel industry, and take action by signing the open letter requesting fossil fuel divestment from the University of Illinois.
