Happy Fall!! We have a lot of upcoming events and projects this October, get excited!
SECS Meeting This Wednesday 6:30-7:30!
At the Channing Murray Foundation, 1209 W Oregon Street. Come learn about what SECS does and how you can get involved!
Here’s what we’re up to this week:
Action: Continuing freedom of speech campaign.
CFE: Planning other clothing reuse events.
Education: Planning new outreach events and reorganizing semester’s plans.
Garden: Planting new starts.
Green Observer : Working on drafts! First drafts due October 1st at 11:59pm!
Media: Continuing button project.
Policy: Doing research on IEC’s bills; civics 101; fact sheets and elevator pitches.
Community Building: Mafia
Before our meetings, from 6:00-6:30, come to the Channing Murray for some community building. We’re playing mafia this week to start off the Halloween season.
Bake Sale
Thursday, October 9th, 12-4, we’re holding a bake sale and tabling. On the quad, right by the union. Show off those baking skills! If you want to bake something, or table, sign up below:
Illini Lights Out: October 3rd
Help save energy by shutting off lights across campus! Join iSEE on Fridays at 5:00 p.m. in the Literatures, Cultures, and Linguistics Building Lobby for Illini Lights Out. After a quick briefing, we’ll turn off lights in campus buildings for the weekend. Return by 6:00 p.m. to wrap up and log service hours.
