Action: Lobbying UC Senators to support endorsing a divestment proposal.
CFE: Writing the speech.
Education: Working on the Anthro-club teach-in.
Garden: Planting and harvesting.
Green Observer: Not meeting this week, congratulations contributors!
Media: Making buttons.
Policy: Continuing research and beginning outreach for the bill.
Community Building: Cards
Before our meetings, from 6:00-6:30, come to the Channing Murray for some community building. We’re playing cards! Bring an Uno deck or anther of your favorite card games.

Food Drive
SNAP benefits help feed tens of millions of Americans, which are being cut this month. To help alleviate this need SECS is collecting food and money to donate to Wesley Food Pantry. For monetary donations Venmo @ls_phillips, please note in your payment that it’s for the food drive! You can help our most vulnerable neighbors by bringing donations to our next meeting. If you or someone you know could benefit from food assistance, find more information in our announcements channel on discord.
Some Upcoming Events
We will be having a collaborative movie screening with La Colectiva! We’ll be watching Dolores, a powerful documentary highlighting the life and activism of Dolores Huerta, a groundbreaking leader in the labor and civil rights movement. Stay afterward for a short reflection and discussion.

TORIIS.earth is an organization that makes transparent the University of Illinois Systems investments and visualizes this data through an environmental lens. Throughout TORIIS, you can explore in depth the University of Illinois Systems’ investments, understand the scope and impact of its investments in the fossil fuel industry, and take action by signing the open letter requesting fossil fuel divestment from the University of Illinois.
