SECS Meeting This Wednesday 6:30-7:30!

At the Channing Murray Foundation, 1209 W Oregon Street. Come learn about what SECS does and how you can get involved!

  • Action: Discussing the gen-ed campaign and lobbying for the divestment proposal.

  • CFE: Working on the clothing swap.

  • Education: Putting together recycled materials for our upcoming teach-ins.

  • Garden: Collecting pumpkins to smash!

  • Green Observer: Celebrating publishing!

  • Media: Painting our finished buttons.

  • Policy: Researching our new bill.

Community Building: Dealer’s Choice

Before our meetings, from 6:00-6:30, come to the Channing Murray for some community building. We’re going to have some options for this meeting, bring a game or choose from what we have!

Study Night

After our meeting this Wednesday we’re going to have a study in night right around the corner! Come hang at Espresso Royale and get some studying in!

Food Drive

SNAP benefits help feed tens of millions of Americans, which are not being delivered this month. To help alleviate this need SECS is collecting food and money to donate to Wesley Food Pantry. For monetary donations Venmo @ls_phillips, please note in your payment that it’s for the food drive! You can help our most vulnerable neighbors by bringing donations to our next meeting. If you or someone you know could benefit from food assistance, find information on local sources below.

Throughout TORIIS, you can explore in depth the University of Illinois Systems’ investments, understand the scope and impact of its investments in the fossil fuel industry, and take action by signing the open letter requesting fossil fuel divestment from the University of Illinois.
