SECS Meeting This Wednesday 6:30-7:30!

At the Channing Murray Foundation, 1209 W Oregon Street. Come learn about what SECS does and how you can get involved!

Here’s what we’re up to this week:

  • Action: Continuing to work on passing the sustainability gen-ed requirement and creating teaching materials.

  • CFE: Preparing for the sock monkey workshop this Thursday, and continuing to write the speech.

  • Education: Planning the anthro club teach in.

  • Garden: Helping out in the pollinator garden.

  • Green Observer: Discussing the fall spread. Final drafts due tonight!

  • Media: Wrapping up buttons and continuing the scrap-booking.

  • Policy: Not meeting this week.

Community Building: Mafia

Before our meetings, from 6:00-6:30, come to the Channing Murray for some community building. We’re playing mafia, so get to the CMF early to get our game done before the meeting!

Save Your Mason Jars

Garden is planning a pickling event to learn how to pickle and do some yourself. Save your mason jars for the event! More information coming soon!

Sock Monkey Workshop

Come learn how to make some sock monkeys with CFE this thursday at the Siebel Center for Design. It's a fun way to repurpose your old socks into something lovable and to promote sustainability and circularity in all things

Throughout TORIIS, you can explore in depth the University of Illinois Systems’ investments, understand the scope and impact of its investments in the fossil fuel industry, and take action by signing the open letter requesting fossil fuel divestment from the University of Illinois.
