We are back to our regularly scheduled programming this week. Here’s what our working groups are up to:
Fossil Free Addendum will be discussing next steps for the bill.
Action will be painting signs for Friday!
Media will be painting a new banner for Friday!
Education will be working on an upcoming teach-in.
Circular Fashion Expo is finishing their speech and picking a speaker.
Solidarity Gardens will be planting seeds outside.

Right to Protest Rally April 18th!

Meet at Alma Mater this Friday, April 18th from 11:30am-1pm to support the right to protest peacefully. Wear black and wear a mask.
Come Camping with Us!
SECS is going on our semesterly camping trip the night of April 25th into the morning of April 26th! If you’re interested, fill out this form and be sure to either bring $5 cash for Joya Weissman or Averhy Sanborn at a Wednesday meeting or Venmo $5 to @jupiter_jpeg by April 20th (this deadline will not be extended). Don’t forget to fill out the carpooling sheet in the form to put yourself in a car!
Come Bouldering with Us!
On Saturday, April 19th, we’ll be going to Urbana Boulders at 1pm. The special group discount rate is just $14 per person! Be sure to fill out this form so we have a headcount of who’s going.
Fossil Free Friday!
This Friday, from 2-3pm at the Channing Murray Foundation, come to Fossil Free Friday to advance the divestment movement.

SECS is proud to announce our first ever book club! The next meeting is Thursday, April 10th at the Women’s Resource Center at 6:30. Stay tuned for news about what’s next on the reading list.

Throughout TORIIS, you can explore in depth the University of Illinois Systems’ investments, understand the scope and impact of its investments in the fossil fuel industry, and take action by signing the open letter requesting fossil fuel divestment from the University of Illinois.
