🚨Fall Climate March This Friday at 1:30!🚨

Happy Monday, SECS! This Friday, September 27th at 1:30 p.m., join us at Alma Mater for the fall Climate March! We’re building a movement of young people to fight the climate crisis and interconnected issues, and we need you to make that happen. Wear orange! We are still meeting on Wednesday this week, so read on to learn what we’re doing. Please bring any spare cardboard you have to the meeting to be used for sign painting!

This week, our wonderful working groups will continue fighting the good fight. Feel free to check out whatever group interests you, and make sure to bring a computer!

Fossil Free Addendum will be assigning representatives to general members and answering any outstanding questions regarding the bill.

Action will be putting the final touches on the climate march!

Media will be painting signs for the march.

Education is continuing work on the Franklin Elementary teach-in.

Solidarity Gardens will be doing more work with air pruner beds weather permitting, and will be researching milk jug natives from the cozy indoors if it rains.

Our next meeting is Wednesday, September 25th at 6:30 p.m. in the Channing Murray Foundation (1209 W. Oregon Street).

🚨WAIT, THERE’S MORE!🚨

Join the Climate Grief Group

Feeling the weight of climate change? You're not alone. Many of us are struggling with grief, anxiety, and a sense of loss as we watch our planet change. The Climate Grief Group is a safe, supportive space where we can talk openly about our climate-related emotions and learn how to cope together. We'll explore our feelings, build resilience, and find ways to turn that grief into positive action. Let's connect, heal, and support each other as we work towards a more just and sustainable future. This group meets virtually on Tuesdays between September 24th and October 29th at 1pm and is led by a licensed, climate-aware therapist. Pay what you can. Register here.
